Slow Cooker Beef Tips with Gravy

- 1-2 tablespoons olive oil
- 3 pounds stew meat
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 3 cups beef broth
- 1 package dry onion soup mix
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 2-3 cloves garlic minced
- 3 tablespoons cornstarch
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Season stew meat with salt and pepper, then add to skillet (working in batches if necessary), and sauté until browned.
Add stew meat to slow cooker. In a medium bowl, whisk together beef broth, onion soup mix, Worcestershire sauce, garlic and cornstarch. Pour over beef.
Cover and cook on low for 5-6 hours, or until beef is tender. Serve with mashed potatoes, rice or noodles.
